The first doctor gave me Fioricet which worked most of the time, then I went to see a neurologist. He stopped giving me the Fioricet and tried about 4 kinds of medication. He refused to give me anymore Fioricet, even when I had a headache for a week. He just smiled and said he couldent do anything (Asshole). After this I went to see another doctor who gave me Fioricet and another daily medication. While on the daily meds I could still take the Fioricet when needed. After trying two different daily medications she gave me Prozac. The Prozac cut down the headaches and I used the Fioricet when needed. This was the best off I had been ever, until 3 years later.
I take fioricet everyday. My new doctor says I must stop taking but its the only thing that has worked for me for years. I go off and keep going back on, as it works so well for me. I take about 3+ per day. What is anyones experience with rebound HA at this rate per day? Also, I take Imitrex, which works very well. I take 25 mg. which usually will do the trick. But may need to take 25 mg. later, because it came back. Sometimes, I have HA several days in a row where I need to take Imitrex. I know youre not supposed to take daily. What is the frequency that is ok. I usually wait until Im desperate B4 I take it. Thanks for any feedback anyone can give me. Oh, also, my new Doctor thinks that if I just get off the fioricet, I wont have HA anymore-- she is so ignorant. I will be going to Headache/Pain Clinic, but cant get appt. for 3-9 mo. Lost my old doctor of 13 years. He was great. He had HA too. I am in limbo with no doctors who understand. It s. Hopefull.
I had to change doctors after getting a new job. A new neurologist refused to even give me a script for Fioricet so my new regular doctor in the plan did. Until now he says something about someone monitoring how much narcotics he is giving out so he stopped giving this to me.
Sometimes, I have HA several days in a row where I need to take Imitrex. I know youre not supposed to take daily. What is the frequency that is ok. I usually wait until Im desperate B4 I take it. Well, I find it works much better if I take it as soon as I feel a headache coming on. (And that the headache doesnt last as long.) So maybe if you take it immediately you won;t need to take it every day. I take it almost every day, and my doctor is fine with that. I do feel like youd do better off the fioricet entirely, but its probably going to be hard on you for a while. It was on me.
ago I took 13 tylenol 3s at once, about 390 mg of codeine, and had a really great, long-lasting nod. Is that too much APAP for the liver? And will it be safe to take say 13-15 fioricet at a time? Will the cold-water extraction work on these pills? Also, isnt the liver the only organ that actually heals itself??
