| If you find the Mircette doesnt work, give Yasmin a try. Its a good pill with a diuretic component built into the progestin I believe so it eliminates bloating and weight gain. I had spotting for a year, but I kept working at it and have gotten past that now. We added the small amount of Estrace as I found thats what I needed. Each person is different and I needed that. |
| gina Dont worry. Mircette is not considered a mini-pill. They do not prescribe a mini-pill for most women who use it as a cantraceptive, or even for cramps. The bleeding thing is different for everyone. the pill is different for everyone, so just because it happens to one person does not mean it will happen to all. |
| My favorite gyn consult is the one who sugested Mircette for all the reasons above plus the hope of stabilizing my fibroids. Does anyone here with endo also have fibroids and take Mircette for your condition? What effect has it had on your fibroids, if any? I am frightened to think it might make my fibroids grow, but the gyn surgeon said it should help stabilize the size because there will not be spikes of estrogen fluctuation. |
| I am currently on Mircette for a pre-IVF cycle. I started the OC on CD1 of AF. I am on the 3rd week of pills and I am *still* spotting and cramping. Anyone else have this? I had some midcycle spotting when on OrthoCyclen one time, but I dont recall spotting for nearly 2 weeks. What bugs me the most is the uterine cramping. I am constantly putting my hand over the area and saying Owww, my uterus hurts... |
| I dont need the Mircette for birth control. It was given to me to hopefully prevent hormonal migraines and also to lighten my monthly flow, as I had become anemic several months ago, now resolved. I also have significant fibroids and a hysterectomy has been recommended. My prominent gyn surgeon said the Mircette may actually help to stabilize the level of estrogen in my system at a lower level so that the fibroids do not continue to grow. |
